Really looking forward to the March 4th full-length from Lionlimb after hearing “Domino.†There’s a decidedly Elliott Smith vibe to the vocal delivery (to me) but that is an enjoyable compliment if ever there was one. It’s poppy with a heartfelt, cutting edge to it. I’m ready for more!

Brooke Waggoner “Swevenâ€
The Jan 15th full-length from Brooke Waggoner is now streaming in full over on FLOOD. I’ve had the pleasure of previewing this album over the last few weeks and it’s a beautiful piece of work. It’s early days but please mark this down as contender for Best Of 2016. It’s intricate and intimate (â€Finkâ€), it’s gleeful and strangely optimistic (â€Pennies and Youthâ€) and, maybe most importantly, it has moments of very macabre strangeness mixed in (â€Cherry Pickâ€).
It’s a diverse album that manages to maintain its identity while keeping things interesting from start to finish. Let’s hope this is the first of many more great albums in this vein.
Goth Babe – Wasted Time
Awhile back I posted about an EP from Fuzz Ghost, a bombastic bit of garage rock that I was quite smitten with. Since that short time, the outfit has changed names to Goth Babe but continues to make some crunchy, thick, face-melting rock.Â
Samday – Positivity M**********R
Nineteen tracks of, mostly, instrumental hip-hop with a perfectly creepy electro undertone. There’s definitely some recognizable sample usage here and there (see “Indestructibleâ€) but it has a unique flavor all its own.Â
The By Gods “The Stairsâ€
The second full-length from The By Gods fast approaches and “The Stairs†continues the trend of 90′s Rock vibes from the outfit. Get On Feelings will be available Jan 22nd.
Daddy Issues “Drop Outâ€
They may have started as a joke but Daddy Issues have graduated into a full blown, legit band. They’ve released a split 7″ with White Reaper featuring “Drop Out†that you can pick up over here.Â
BUTTHOLE – Secret EP
I won’t lie, when I heard that there was a band named Butthole in town I was eager to hear it just for the awesome trainwreck that it had to be.  It seems that naming your band something so sophomorically silly would equate to putting in the least amount of effort possible. Turns out, for Nashville’s BUTTHOLE, that’s simply not true. There’s a lot of potential puns to be made here but I’ll take the high ground and point out that their Secret EP is actually a great mix of unbridled energy, some spasmatic outcries and delightful pop music.Â

Steelism “The Tubeâ€
Watch Steelism from their Christmas Party performance at The Stone Fox as recorded by Jason Marsden.
The Nobility “On The Slyâ€
Start your 2016 off right with some upbeat, feel-good pop music cut with just the right amount of melancholy longing. The full album, Ashford Castle, will be released early this year and if this is any indication, it’s going to be great.
XMAS Hiatus
We’re going to slumber through the rest of the year and continue posting in 2016. Thanks for all your support and I look forward to the continued discovery of all the greatness emerging from Nashville.

“Let’s take a photo of our first practice in case we become punk rock legends.” – Little Paws
I like that attitude!
V to Z “Safety Nowâ€
It’s been a fruitful year for Joshua Moore, aka V to Z. Every month for the entirety of 2015 he released a new song for free. Thematically, they all sound related and part of a bigger, cohesive vision but they also explore a lot of versatile styles and instrumentation. It’s not officially an album but it sure feels like one.
I look forward to whatever is on the docket for 2016. Certainly seems promising.
