If you didn’t catch it already on The Cream, please find some time immediately to listen to the latest from Okey Dokey. Really looking forward to that album (supposdly out in early 2017 I believe).
Flourescent Half Dome – Jewel Tones
While `Fluorescent Half Dome` may be the title of a Dirty Projectors song it should be better known for being the name of Krista Glover’s solo outing (also known for her enjoyable work in dream-pop band Wildfront). There is a distinctive 80′s production quality to the seven tracks, down to the programmed drums and occasionally Cure-esque guitar but Glover’s optimistic abandon with her vocal delivery is really what gels it all together.Â
Personally, I think every song has something worthwhile to offer but if you need a starting point, go with Tapestry.
Paperhead “Dama de Lavandaâ€
Mind currently being blown by the goodness of the first sneak peek of Paperhead’s new album, Chew. Latin-y horns, jangly guitars, hazy Beatles-esque vocals, a tiny bit of guitar lick and a flute tinged outro; a combo you’d never think would work quite this well. Officially excited for the full album.

All Them Witches – Sleeping Through The War
New album from All Them Witches on the way. Sadly, it won’t be released until late February but you can go listen to the track “Bruce Lee†now.Â
OKEY DOKEY “Wavy Gravyâ€
I’ll admit that I’m a bit behind with this news but I just stumbled across the official video for OKEY DOKEY’s track, Wavy Gravy. Really looking forward to their album, Love You, Mean It, out in January.
PANGS “Do Betterâ€
PANGS is many things; sometimes they’re introspective dreamy electronic pop. Sometimes they’re abrasive electronic soundscapes. And sometimes they’re absolutely flagrant pop songs. The later is the case with “Do Betterâ€, the latest from the outfit. It’s a club hit waiting for your closed eyes, waving arms and screaming singalong on that chorus.Â
The Mute Group “Brainplate in Ebâ€
Take some time to watch the newest video from The Mute Group, the new project from Umbrella Tree frontman Zachary Gresham. The video, directed by _1_2_7 features some creative work with coloring dyes and white roses. What’s it all mean? There’s no way of knowing but it’s entrancing to watch.Â

WXNA Pledge Drive
Support your community radio station and find a few bucks to support WXNA in their first pledge drive. The station and all of its DJ’s are doing a phenomenal job of filling the air with incredible shows and diverse playlists. Let’s keep that going.
Blank Range – Vista Bent
Happy to see Blank Range return after three years of quiet. The new EP has a decidedly alt-Americana vibe to it, fully embracing some of the bands previous country leanings but never fully letting go of their rock roots. Listening to “Gardens†feels like the band has gone full-in on the country vibe but that’s quickly undone with the passionate, decidedly non-country, cries of “Linger On.â€Â
In the same way that Dr. Dog walks the line between country, Americana and rock, Blank Range seems to have their footing by embracing that diversity.
Creature Comfort “Teeth for Daysâ€
It’s unclear if this track was just waiting to be released or if the band wrote it in a fury in the last week but “Teeth for Days†feel like an appropriate response to the Trump election. It’s an upbeat number that doesn’t exactly harp on the topic  but might provide a little catharsis as we’re coming down.
