Jesus Says Relax, Free CD

wott_tits

Tonight The Tits celebrate the release of their full-length Jesus Says Relax with The Clutters and Howlies over at The Basement. It’s worth noting that 1) The album is free. No more of this whole charging for physical product nonsense. They want you to hear it and the easiest way to do that is to give it to you free of charge. 2) The album is a schlocky, big riff, maniacal onslaught with the occasional lyric AC/DC would be proud of.

Featured Upcoming Event: Dent May

wott_denymay

While I’m sure most people’s concerns today is just how early they can leave work and start celebrating Cinco de Mayo properly (may I recommend heading over to La Paz?) it’s worth taking a moment to think about the future. What are you doing on May 15th? There are a number of good shows in town that night but I’d like to highlight the goings on over at Mercy Lounge with Dent May, Kindercastle and The Winter Sounds. If you were not aware, Dent May creates some great little pop diddies with his ukulele as his jumping off point. Trust me, it works. He may not be a Nashville act but he’s a Southern Boy and that counts for a lot.

Long story short, you should probably go ahead and get advanced tickets to make sure you get in.

This podcast makes an attempt to focus on some straightforward Rock bands around town. Nashville has no shortage of said genre of band but it’s getting increasingly difficult to be a compelling rock band these days. The bands included in this iteration are either doing some great, showing promise to do something great or just doing something already established really well. I’ll let you decide which is which.

Notes for listening:

  • DPaul does not fit under the large umbrella of “rock” but it still needs to be heard.
  • Dewey Decibel is more of what I’d call an “indie” outfit but that term is somehow more broad than “rock” so it’s an either/or type of situation.
