Next Big Nashville (and Leadership Summit?) made several announcements today – among them the initial artist lineup for the 2010 festival. The organizers pulled in some heavy weight and will have Yeasayer and Wavves playing amongst several other national and regional acts. Here’s the full blurb from their site:
Yeasayer, WAVVES, Ponys, David Bazan, Javelin, The Hood Internet, Garotas Suecas, Moon Duo, The Mynabirds, Otouto, Peelander-Z, Elf Power and many more. In total, 150+ acts will play over four nights in Nashville’s premiere music venues. Nationally recognized artists will appear with a full slate of established and emerging names from Nashville and the Southeast including Madi Diaz, Kyle Andrews, Keegan DeWitt, Futurebirds, Andrew Belle, Katie Herzig, Megan McCormick, Kopecky Family Band, The Apache Relay, Mikky Ekko, The Protomen, The Non Commissioned Officers, Roman Candle, The Silver Seas and more. Record labels, organizations and brands will also present showcases, VIP events and exclusive after parties.
Lots of We Own This Town favorites in there and we’ll keep you posted on official schedules and lineups as their announced. You can also procure wristbands and badges for a discounted price at this time; likely a good idea given that you wouldn’t want to get turned away from the Yeasayer show.

Two piece Action! might be one of the most un-Google-able band names out there but thanks to Ryan Ervin we got the proper heads up on their Internet location. The band is a two piece consisting of husband and wife team Dan and Robyn Burns. Their first album, Friend Weakend, was recorded by Jeremy Ferguson and is available for digital procurement or on CD.. we hear vinyl is on the way.
It’s never too early to mark your calendar for an upcoming RR Party. So, with that said, bust out your big red marker and circle Friday, August 13th. Mr. D. Striker will be bringing you entertainment down at Bobby’s Idle Hour… you don’t want to miss it. Come on down!
