Tristen Update

I’m not going to steal another quality blogs thunder but I will say this, you should head over to Nashville’s Dead to get the scoop on the forthcoming full-length from Tristen. I had no idea such plans were solidified. Every Tristen show I attend, she just gets better.. I refuse to believe the record won’t live up to that enjoyment level.

House Pride Records

Murfreesboro based label with a bunch of bands I've not heard of. Might be time to dive in and check it out.

Turbo Time

Did you know Turbo Fruits had their own record label called Turbo Time Records? Maybe it’s old news by now but it was news to me when I saw the announcement yesterday that a new PUJOL 7″ was ready to be unleashed on the world. So, what’s the deal with the label? It’s a straightforward concept of small releases meant to appease short attention span music fans. To be exact:

The plan is to release 6 vinyl & digital singles for each artist over a year’s time. At the end of the year long process, TTR will release the final product… a full-length TURBO TIME RECORDS SINGLES COLLECTION. The intention is to take the pressure off the artist of creating a “masterpiece” full length album all in one sitting. This way TTR artists can take their time creating a great album and release it to the public in pieces as it is being worked on. In this day and age, music fan’s attention spans are close to nil. So ladies and gentlemen of the 21st Century, be prepared to have your ADD-tweet-textin’ minds catered to…

So, there you have it. This is but the tip of the iceberg for loads more goodness to come. Keep an eye on their site and be sure to hit up the store to snag the first two releases.

News Rundown

Various tidbits of news from a myriad of Internet sources:

A Country Gentleman (aka Matt Moody) has released a new EP of works entitled Trey Deuce Style. You can download it for free here. As the title implies, there is much collaboration afoot with the Trey Deuce Club members and, pleasantly enough, some non-members such as Tristen. Do yourself a minor favor and go stream it.

JEFF posted a new song up on their MySpace profile entitled “Mellow Out.” It sounds like it could have been taken straight from the cutting room floor of Heavy Days – this is meant as a complimentary statement.

According to the official Lambchop Twitter, the Kurt Wagner / Cortney Tidwell collaborative project known as KORT will debut the live incarnation of the undertaking this Thursday, Oct 14th, at Betty’s Bar and Grill (407 49th avenue S).
