Matthew Putis is not one to rest on his laurels. Despite having just released his latest full-length, Never Let Go, as Makeup and Vanity Set, he’s gone ahead and released a “more personal work” as his other alter-ego, daas. If MAVS is the beat-driven, frantic energy, high octane output then CLE is the opposite side of the coin; leaning more on ambient tendencies, noise, glitch and lumbering speeds. Birdcloud – “Indianer”

This weekend I ran across the demo track of “More Indianer” from Birdcloud over on Myspace and attempted to investigate ways to rip it down to a local mp3 without it sounding wretched. I failed completely but, fortunately, it appears that the band has put a video up of the same recording over on YouTube and you can get the legit studio version if you’re willing to give up your email address to the band over on NoiseTrade (a worthwhile price).
