Egosystem – Everything is Easy

I randomly stumbled upon this little gem the other day and can not stop listening to it. I’ve no idea who is involved in it, what their plans for the future are or what sort of undertaking it was to even put this together but the results speak for themselves. Electronic, instrumental, a little dark and incredibly engaging.

Jasmin KasetQuiet Machine Record Release Party
with Ponychase and Rayland Baxter
Friday, January 31st, 2014
The Basement
Nashville, TN.

Poster by Grand Palace

You have plans tonight. This is it.

Season of Arrows – “The Loved One”

I sample a lot of music via Bandcamp and, nine times out of ten, whenever I encounter some serious big, heavy leaning, rock songs they are completely ruined when the vocals join in. Writing a big riff is only half the battle. So, it was a nice welcome relief to hear “The Loved One” and enjoy the somewhat ethereal vocals mixed down low. It’s a nice juxtaposition to the doom and gloom tones throughout.

Sugar Sk*_*lls – Tethers

lyrics and music: Ben Marcantel

Jasmin Kaset – Quiet Machine

The wonderful sophomore record from Jasmin Kaset is now available. You can hear it on your favorite digital streaming service (see below) or obtain a gorgeous copy on coke bottle clear vinyl. Start with “The Salesman” or “Porno Mtn” or “Lionshare” to whet your whistle.

Listen on: Bandcamp, Soundcloud, Rdio, Spotify

Obviously I’m biased but I am loving this record.

Tristen – “Catalyst”

Awesomely dramatic new Tristen video directed by Seth Pomeroy. Lots of familiar faces in there but the real important thing to remember is that the song is awesome.

Jasmin Kaset – ‘Quiet Machine’ Full Album Preview

Listen to the new Jasmin Kaset album, in its entirety, a week before it’s released. Thanks to Doug Lehmann, Josh Lagerson and Fort Houston for helping to make this happen and to all of Jasmin’s family and band members that came out to give the album a proper listen.

Excellent long form preview video for the sophomore release from Jasmin Kaset, coming next week.

I love the space at Club Roar – a great studio tucked away in the Berry Hill area. I recently received a very quick update from Patrick Damphier that they’ve been working with Photo Ops, Night Beds, Steelism, Roy Ira, The Mynabirds,  Field Days and more. That’s a lot of solid Nashville bands to look forward to hearing new goodness from.

oney Locust – “Blue Rooms”

The first track off the forthcoming The Great Southern Brood. If you’re a fan of DeVotchKa, Calexico or other western inspired bands capable of swelling, emotional, anthemic songs – this one is for you.Â
