Sherbert – 2013 Never Happened

Everything we recorded in 2013 and then some, gloriously remixed and mastered to shine on state of the art audio cassette technology. Available in limited edition cassettes, 2/15/2014.

There’s a very strong late 90’s throwback vibe to what Sherbert does but they do it so well that you can hardly count that as a complaint. The super sweet, jangly pop sounds wrapped around snarling Fuck You lyrics are a combination that I can’t get enough of.

Kin Ship – “Monster”

Never let it be said that album art is not an important element of putting a release – big or small – out into the world. Maybe I’m biased as a graphic designer but the latest single from Kin Ship’s forthcoming full-length caught my eye, literally, and now I’m enjoying some soulful tones inspired by the likes of “Nilsson, The Kinks and what you miss about your father’s record collection.” Not too shabby guys.

Natural Child – “Out in the Country”

I’m not gonna lie.. I’ve never really been into Natural Child. I think they do their thing well, are talented guys and great performers but there’s always been something about their Fuck You, Smoke Pot ethos that rubbed me the wrong way. Or maybe I, personally, just didn’t get it. That being said, I’m rather enjoying this offering and it makes a bit more sense to me than prior undertakings. Either I’m becoming less of an idiot or the band is opening up a little bit. Win win.

Tyler Black – Oh No, Old Glow / All These Times

Nothing wrong with a little straight ahead pop-rock and Tyler Black’s new single proves it wholeheartedly. The lead track “Oh No, Old Glow” has the energy you crave when dreaming of the forthcoming summer months. “All These Times” has that nice melancholy punch running underneath that we all know I’m a total sucker for. Looking forward to more.

Cavemen the Wise x RoY – “Voyager II”

Awesome new collaborative track. If anyone that gives you a weird look about loving the Nashville music scene because they assume it’s all lame country and singer songwriters.. send them this.

*repeat repeat – Chemical Reaction

Another single serving track from the ever pleasing repeat repeat. Aside from the fact that the band continues to deliver on a consistent level, I am told that this is the first preview from their forthcoming full-length set for release in March.Â
