It’s not music per se but the folks behind Critter’s Galaxy recently informed me of their next project  – and it’s a far cry from what they were doing before.  Maybe it’s not an amusing absurdist, intentionally awkward, interview show but it does appear to be a well crafted bit of film. There’s also the official soundtrack from Ascent of Everest but I’m still digesting that, so no official word quite yet.
Service Unicorn – A Single Thread of Silver
What’s this? A completely earnest electro-pop song with a dark undertone referencing a handful of fantasy undertones? No joke, I can not wait to hear more of this.
Thank you Dave Paulson
for sharing.Â
Well I’ll be damned – here’s the whole album in streaming form. Looks like I spoke without doing enough research. Enjoy Jordan Sings.

It’s tough to buy an album these days – with all the free streaming options and preview widgets floating around the Internets, who would buy an album, amirite? I implore you to make an exception for Jordan Lehning’s Jordan Sings. If you like harmonies, pop music heavily drenched in Beatles influence, a dash of melancholy and an obvious understanding of the craft of songwriting, you can do no wrong.Â
Long story short, I’m loving this record and it only further confirms my belief that Jordan Lehning is one unbelievable talent.

Idle Bloom last night at their first show in Nashville. Stoked to see what these good humans do next. It was too much fun traveling with Olivia and Katie in their band before this, Fancytramp, so much respect to those ladies.
Denney and The Jets – “Mama’s Got the Blues”
PASTE premiered the newest track from Denney and the Jets forthcoming full-length, Mexican Coke. Album available April 8th.Â
Ponychase – Parade of Youth
Despite being friends with Jordan, Alex and Beth I feel like I can approach Parade of Youth with an air of objectivity because I am completely out of my element with this style of pop music. Without offending, my ignorant ear hears a strong 80’s style production from the drums, to the reverb-y guitars, to the ethereal keyboards. Jordan Caress carries the record with her voice – an instrument that evokes serious pain, forelorn longing and an underlying strength. It’s impressive to say the least.
Makeup and Vanity Set -Â Wilderness Kickstarter
In partnership with Joey Ciccoline, Makeup and Vanity Set is raising funds for a new album and short film. Sort of like 88:88 was but next level. It’s an aggressive goal but with those two at the helm of the project, I can’t imagine it being anything less than wonderful.

Out of Office
I’m in Texas for the week. Drinking beers, watching bands and catching up with TN folk. Semi-regular posting will resume next week.
