Bedroom “Work This Outâ€
It’s been nearly a year since since BEDROOM released anything but Noah Kittinger has roused from his slumber and released another breezy lo-fi summer track for all to enjoy. Â
Omniscient Art – WE WILL
I rather enjoyed the previous release from Omniscient Art – The Rift – and WE WILL seems to continue in the same vein. Instrumental explorations with hip-hop, ambient and avant-garde roots.Â
Supermelt – Nobody Else
First off, accolades should be given to these guys for shortening their name from Ben Spinks Supermelt to, simply, Supermelt. It more properly embodies the bombastic rock they’re capable of without giving you some sense of silliness before you even hear a note.
Secondly, GREAT work to them for putting together such a fine record. Most of it is a burning onslaught of energy but they’re wise enough to pepper that tempo with a slow number to calm you down. Don’t miss out on “Lobo Ninoâ€, the title track “Nobody Else†and the explosive “Nirvana.â€Â
The Grips “Tennessee Strut†/ “Fancy Rollâ€
It came out in 2008 but the G.E.D. Soul series of 7″’s holds strong. The best place to start is, clearly, the first in the series. If you haven’t noticed, GED Soul has been slowly but surely putting out some very worthwhile tracks.
Natalie Prass – Bird of Prey
Great new video from Natalie Prass showcasing one of the finer tracks from her latest self-titled album. It’s a simple video full of vibrant colors and an entrancing performance from Prass.

Quinn Erwin (MEMO)ries
Quinn Erwin has set himself up with some creative restrictions for his (MEMO)ries project. The song itself must be recorded by the Voice Memos app and only one instrument (and vocal) will be involved. He even uses the phone to create the artwork.Â
Recording yourself playing acoustically into a semi lo-fi recording device isn’t anything new but I appreciate that the entire production can take place on just a phone. It’s also worth noting that Quinn has captured some pretty emotive vocal performances, likely because the recording process seems so non-threatening.

I know nothing of Charlie Shea. His bandcamp profile consists of two words - “fuck off.†What I do know is that his various songs and EP’s are filled with upbeat garage rock, crunchy ballads and weird indie rock. Honestly, it’s a lot of good ideas and excellent execution. I may have to fuck off but I’m going to revisit these songs often.

In today’s Bully news, you can preview the entirety of Feels Like over on NPR. Album release officially set for June 23rd.
Iron/Fox – Ontogenesis
Iron/Fox is the collaborative undertaking of Justin Fox and Aaron Irons – the later of which you may know from his involvement in The Non-Commissioned Officers, Jasmin Kaset’s band, Vermicious K’nids and other various projects. It’s a keyboard driven bit of indie rock with a flair for building tensions. Personally, I think the second half of the record is the strongest – particularly the title track. I imagine you’ll see more and more of Iron/Fox pop up around town, just a hunch.
