I’ll admit it. As curator of We Own This Town I am quite jealous of the goings on over at Nashville’s Dead – they have cultivated a culture by championing bands that is unprecedented in this town as far as I’m concerned. I’m obviously not the only one to notice either; given that the Scene gave them serious props as well. Two years running and they’ve gone from new blog on the circuit to a full onslaught of activity – constant site updates, new music, podcasts, releasing limited edition records, curating rock weekends and being embraced by a growing community every step of the way. A tip of the proverbial hat to all involved.. they’ve got a great thing going.
