Looks like Next Big Nashville has taken the next step in their evolution of moving away from being “Nashville” centric and being more of an event organizer. They just announced SoundLand 2011 – a four-day indoor/outdoor event taking place in late September. This is, obviously, Next Big Nashville that we’ve all come to enjoy but in a new form. The FAQ page states that the artist submission process is different this year (read: hand picked, not submitted) and the venue list looks a bit more condensed than it has in years past. Personally, I think it’s quite a wise idea to drop any reference to Nashville in the event title as it limits / confuses the kinds of booking that take place.
Long story short, there aren’t a ton of details yet. No bookings have been announced but they are offering an “Earlybird” ticket sale for just $35 for the entire four days. Not too shabby!
