Over the weekend I ran across this note from Jeffery Carney regarding a never released album from imagine asians that begun recording in 2006.
I wanted to share something with you all that I began working on in 2006, if memory serves. Back then I was zealously pursuing an “advanced hobby†in music, and I recorded an album with a bunch of friends from Nashville under the band name imagine asians. Unfortunately, my perfectionist side never allowed me to release this album, titled (rather ironically, looking back), “We Are the Future!â€
This project, which was created on a shoestring budget of well under $2000 (including artwork), was something that I worked on for nearly a year, and for a long time I held onto hope that I’d return to it when I had more time and money to polish it to my heart’s content, but, at least for the time being, that isn’t in the cards. And so I’ve decided to make it available in ultra high quality .wav format to any of you that would like to have a copy.
Don’t let the unreleased nature of the album fool you – it’s polished and enjoyable from start to finish. In fact, it’s a shame that it’s been banished to the World of Lost Recordings because it deserves much more than that.
