The Berklee College of Music recently released their Music Business Handbook Vol. 2, brimming with essays regarding Unpaid Royalties, Fan-Funding, Copyright Law, embracing nostalgic sounds and a load more. It’s downloadable here if you’re curious to read such a thing. Typically, I’d say that your standard music based liberal arts professor wouldn’t have a real clue on the state of the music industry and what it takes to be a band these days but these Berklee professors have some great insight. I’m not sure a lot of it applies to a new, just-starting, band but it’s still good to keep abreast of the state of things as a whole.
