Metal band Inferi formed in 2006 and has released three intense metal albums, with a fourth on the horizon for 2017. The Path of Apotheosis was released in 2014 and has everything you’d hope for with an album cover depicting a bladed angel fighting a trident-wielding demon – double bass drum as far as the eye can see, growling vocals, lighting fast guitar shreds and big, chunky, riffs. It also contains a great deal of melody, angelic interludes and tasteful solos.Â
It’s a completely unearthed part of the Nashville music scene for me – well formed metal that draws influence from the earliest days of the genre while still adding its own unique contributions.Â
