Grand Palace is cooking something up – Here’s the blurb from their site:

The idea is to have a little battle royal, in which songs that you submit (by your band) will be paired in heats and voted on by our wonderful website visitors (trash talking is encouraged). I don’t know if this will be a success, but with your help it could be fun. If you are interested in submitting something (any band big or small?) send it to lynn@grandpalace.us, and once I have enough to begin then all hell will break loose.

I don’t know if this is limited to local music or not (I don’t think so) but sounds like a good way to drum up some quality trash talking. Full post here.
