Chances are if you’ve been listening to local music for any amount of time you know who David Dewese is. He’s been part-time / full-time member of The Luxury Liners, Foxymorons, The Nobility and probably loads more I’m not aware of. Long story short, he’s releasing a solo album entitled Make the Best of It (details here) and will be playing a release show at Bongo Java (upstairs) on October 30th (details here). It’s a collection of feel good pop songs but that’s hardly a derogatory statement.

Holly House
Apparently Holly House is a local music collective of bands looking to help each other out through touring, promotions, etc. The concept is nothing new to any rock scene – bands helping out other bands – but the Holly House roster of bands is far more appealing to my taste than any other pack I’ve encountered in recent years. Thus far the bands united together are: And The Relatives, Cobra Cheetah Tiger Viper, Eureka Gold, The Glib, The Hannah Barbarians, Shoot The Mountain and The Tits. I look forward to the inevitable roster showcase.
