SPIN ♥’s And The Relatives

atr_spin

SPIN Magazine has just published the article 8 Undiscovered Bands Worth a Listen and Nashville’s own And The Relatives is on the short list. Apparently “Cowboy Jazz” rightfully caught their attention. I’m not sure I agree with the comparison to The Black Keys but the mini-writeup is pretty dead-on:

This trio has no desire to adorn their teeth-gnashing, blues-rock riffage with frills or filler. Succinct, straightforward, and soulful.

Elle Macho Lake Fever Session

The second set of performances from the Lake Fever Sessions has debuted and is available for viewing. This time around it’s a rock onslaught brought to you by Elle Macho – the power trio of Butterfly Boucher, David Mead and Lindsey Jamieseon. Each member of the band has had their own individual successes but you can see that the collaborative effort from all three creates an energy and charisma that a lot of bands are never capable of achieving.

Umbrella Tree goes acoustic

umbrellatree-prizefighter

Umbrella Tree just announced the release of their latest album Acoustic at the Prizefighter Compound – twelve tracks of acoustic versions of songs taken from their previous albums What Kind of Books Do You Read? and The Church & The Hospital. The disc can be purchased on CDBaby or iTunes and, as one would expect, you can preview the tracks on their Myspace.
