Superdrag Lake Fever Session
The five-song epic Lake Fever Session from Superdrag just went live. The performance consists of songs from their new album Industry Giants and you can tell from the first note that despite that vague hiatus they took, they are still an incredibly tight band. The writeup from Joe Baine Colvert is far more eloquent and personal than I could attempt to tackle so I suggest you go take a gander at that while partaking in the goodness of the session.

The Not-So Privates
In anticipation of their upcoming release, Motion, The Privates have re-launched their official website. The band has also launched their very own Bandcamp Profile and are offering up their latest EP for digital download for just five bucks. I’m also told that the back catalog of out of print material will make its way up there soon as well.
The Privates will celebrate the official release of Motion tomorrow night (4/3) at The Basement with The Hotpipes and The Garland Sisters.
Pico vs Joey Ciccoline
Band photography is no simple task. There is loads of evidence to support that a band is more likely to take a contrived, un-imaginative, douche-y photo than they are something that might possibly catch your eye. With that in mind, much respect is to be paid to Joey Ciccoline for consistently turning out worthwhile band photos. His latest batch is for Pico vs. Island Trees and can be viewed here. Hopefully more bands begin to turn to the worthwhile photographers in town for some quality new images.
Janet Timmons is kicking your ass
Not that it’s a competition or anything but Janet Timmons, aka Out The Other, has been absolutely destroying any inkling of a doubt that she’s got the whole “Most Informative Blogger” thing in Nashville locked down. Here’s a sampling of her Twitter posts from yesterday:
- Listen to the archive of last night’s show with Dave and Ryan from The Privates – and hear the full Motion EP! http://bit.ly/MiI1t
- RT @thefeatures Nylon Magazine is doing a profile on The Features for Jun/Jul issue. Maybe that’s the interview Rollum was doing last night?
- Parachute Musical is sneak-previewing their new Bandcamp page complete with free DL of the 1st album! http://bit.ly/v4qYN (via @paramusical)
- Per the Scene, the Non-Commissioned Officers will perform songs from the Make Out With Violence OST 4/23 at Mercy Lounge http://bit.ly/LTSAz
- Download Ryan Adams’ 3/15 Nashville show @ War Memorial now on Archive.org in flac, ogg, or mp3 – http://bit.ly/2rDghh (thx @nashmeta4s)
WTF Janet!? Leave some for the rest of us why don’t ya? That’s like a weeks worth of news here and you knocked it out in a single day… guess we’ll just have to try harder.
