The Nobility get Maxi
The Nobility will be releasing a new digital maxi single, entitled Gentle Giant, on August 14th. The band will play The Basement that night to celebrate the release and be selling download cards to retrieve the album online via their Bandcamp. There’s no physical version forthcoming at this time but it does bode well for a full-length album to be on the horizon before too long. You can download the title track, for free, right now at this link and remember to check back on August 14th to get the other two songs.

Pico vs Daytrotter
Pico vs. Island Trees recently hit up The Horseshack studio in Rock Island Illinois to record their very own Daytrotter Session. You can preview, and download, the whole thing right here.
Keegan DeWitt Lake Fever Session
Just as planned the latest Lake Fever Session for Keegan DeWitt has launched. It consists of two of Keegan’s original creations and a great cover of “Wild Heart” by Fleetwood Mac with Madi Diaz singing / playing backup.
In all honesty I didn’t know a ton about Keegan’s music before listening to this session but I can confidently say that it is emotive and striking right from the get go. Something about the combination of strings and his vocal delivery creates an emotionally crushing delivery.

The Kindergarten Circus – The Kindergarten Circus
This thirteen track excursion is everything you’d expect from Kindergarten Circus; lotsa guitars, lotsa wailing singing, high doses of energy and a lo-fi production style that wraps it all together quite nicely. You can hear the whole thing here and be prepared to come out on July 25th for the official release party at The End (with The Clutters, Denny and the Jets and Daniel Pujol).
The Zut Alors – The Zut Alors
I’ll be totally honest, I’ve heard people talk some major smack about this band so I went into previewing their EP with a huge amount of hesitation. My judgment was laid before the first note even started. That being said, I think writing this one off too quickly is not giving it enough credit. Many of the tracks feature a good dose of electronic instrumentation mixed with your standard rock-n-roll setup – a formula I enjoy. Give “Take Take Take” and “Your Time” a spin and see what I mean. There’s goodness here.
