The always oddly controversial Heypenny will release their first official follow-up to Use These Spoons in the form of a coloring book / EP entitled CopCar. The band will celebrate the release by hosting a special 8 Off 8th with a number of their friends; including, but not limited to, Mikky Ekko, Madi Diaz, Natalie Prass and Coral Castles.

A bunch of Meltface Records artists are playing a series of shows around town. The whole lowdown can be found here but the gist is, your calendars should be marked for:
Brian Lee and His Orchestra have made Vol. II available for download – you can pay as much as you’d like or snag it for free if you’re a newcomer to the band and just want to give it a test drive. It’s a languid affair on the whole but pleasant on the ears.

The Nobility will be releasing a new digital maxi single, entitled Gentle Giant, on August 14th. The band will play The Basement that night to celebrate the release and be selling download cards to retrieve the album online via their Bandcamp. There’s no physical version forthcoming at this time but it does bode well for a full-length album to be on the horizon before too long. You can download the title track, for free, right now at this link and remember to check back on August 14th to get the other two songs.
