WOTT RADIO – LOTSA NEWNESS

wott_radio_new

There are a few new changes coming down the pipe for the radio show.  First off, We Own This Town Radio can now be heard every Thursday from 10-11pm. Sorry, but no more local jams to get you home from a long day of work.

In other news, I am very excited to bring in new co-host Matt Hearn to shake tings up a bit. You probably know him from his previous stint hosting that other local radio show, Holly House (or perhaps from his role as drummer extraordinaire with Turbo Fruits & The Tits). There’s a good chemistry between Matt & I, so I’m sure they’ll be some slightly more interesting talk breaks than before. Hey, anything’s gotta be better than listening to me basically talk to myself. Hell, maybe we’ll even figure out how to put callers on the air and open ourselves up to some madness. Who know…

So tune in tonight at 10pm to sooth all your local rock jones. Tune that dial to 91.1 here in the greater metro area or stream us (now in iTunes!) anywhere else at wrvu.org.

You’re on the List

wott_sms

While I’m sure that this won’t be highly condoned by most venue owners you must admit that You’re On The List is a brilliant idea. The blog supplies fake SMS messages from a number of Nashville notables that you can flash to the door guy to prove said individual intended you to be on the list. Thus far the anonymous blog has posted SMS messages from the likes of Bryan Carter, Mike Grimes, Drew Mischke, Jon Burr, Madi Diaz, Andrew Brassell and even Space Capone.

There’s no guarantee it will ever work to get you in the door but it’s an ingenius idea and a rather believable execution.

Uncle Skeleton gets Remixed

If you haven’t heard Pancho Chumley from Uncle Skeleton, I suggest you follow this link and download it immediately. Once you’ve familiarized yourself you are ready to partake in the, just released, REMIX album.

Contributions were provided by Jensen Sportag, DPAUL, Makeup and Vanity Set, Wild Cub, Justin Kase, Karius Vega, Tuggie D Warbux and Nahnee Bori.

In the spirit of full disclosure, this is a release that I am backing but given that it’s entirely free to enjoy I see no conflict in the recommendation. Preview it, download it, enjoy it. You can also grab it as one single “megamix” track right here.

No More Tits

In case for some reason you read this site and just glance over The Cream you might not know that The Tits have gone their separate ways on “indefinite hiatus.” Their full-length, Jesus Says Relax, can now be considered a relic of times gone by.
