It was roughly a year ago this week that the film Make-Out With Violence was premiering at SXSW. It seems only fitting that this week Lake Fever Sessions are premiering their quality time spent with the band forged as a promotional arm for the movie – The Non-Commissioned Officers. While the back story of a band being formed to provide a soundtrack for a movie and raise funds for said film is a unique and intriguing one, it really seems to sell the Non-Comms short; as they certainly stand on their own as just a great band. Obviously I’m not the only one that thinks this way as they recently took home first place at the Mercy Lounge Road to Bonnaroo, where they are sure to win some hearts.

While Make-Out with Violence may be winding down in terms of its promotion cycle I can only hope that the Non-Commissioned Officers continue to push forward and keep doing what they do. As witnessed by this session, it’s certainly working for them.
