The Silver Seas put out their first album, High Society, as The Bees back in 2006. After a bit of name changing they are finally set to release the followup this coming July. Chateau Revenge will be available, physically, on July 6th but the band has gone ahead and made the album procurable digitally right now at chateaurevenge.com.

Based on a cursory first listen the album seems to be a bit more upbeat than its predecessor but still fully embracing the melancholy vocal styles of Daniel Tashian. This assumption is confirmed after reading through this interview regarding the creation of the album and the intended focus on larger sounds via a loose conceptual narrative. Don’t let that scare you though, this is a solid Pop record with a myriad of 70’s influences shown on its sleeve – though artfully able to dodge being derivative.
