Red Forest Hunter

While I don’t suspect the sounds of Red Forest Hunter are for everyone they have deep roots in the Nashville / Murfreesboro rock community so it’s well worth mentioning. The band features members of Serotonin, Lotus Halo, Short Ropes and Hostages. If those names mean anything to you, then the sound Red Forest Hunter is offering should already be familiar to you – aggressive, math-y rock. They’ve got some videos up on their Facebook page to give you an idea of what to expect from them further down the line.

The Groove Closing

In a bit of shocking and disheartening news it appears that The Groove will be shutting their doors this month and, hopefully, relocating to a new spot. This announcement states that this Sunday June 20th will be their final open day – with a weeklong sale on all new and used merchandise to help them par down on the amount of stuff that has to be moved. If you’ve somehow managed to never step foot inside this fine establishment in its three years of operation please find some time over the next few days to get in there and show your support.

Balcony TV Check in

It’s been awhile since I’ve checked in on Balcony TV and it seems they’ve added quite a few performances from WOTT friendly bands. If you aren’t familiar with the concept of the site, it is pretty simple. They bring in bands to play on a balcony down at the Rhythm building, record the performance straight through (no cuts) and post it online. Simple and, often, effective (albeit somewhat strange at times). New performances from This Modern Station, Bad Cop, Oblio, and The Zut Alors.
