El Baile de los Muertos
I told you Matt Moody was an unstoppable force. He’s got another video from his latest record, El Baile de los Muertos, and this time around he’s got fellow members of By Lighting! supporting him throughout.
Additionally, Moody tells me that he’ll be releasing his next album, EVA, on March 11th. The man never stops.

Chancellor Warhol
Playlist for Edie
Free Download
When I heard that Chancellor Warhol would be releasing new music today, Valentines Day, I assumed that it would be a short EP of tunes. Maybe 3 or 4 tracks to tease a forthcoming full-length album. Turns out, his Playlist for Edie is ten fully fleshed out songs ready for your free consumption. He continues to sample high profile indie and rock artists for a good deal of his beats – you’ll hear M83, Gotye, Lana del Ray and even some Coldplay in there. His presentation comes across as emphatic, energized and honest as ever. It’s easy to see how this could grab a great deal of attention; deservedly so.

If you’ve been reading the blog regularly you’ll likely be familiar with several of the included bands already but the podcast will still serve as a good reminder of some of the best new goods to come out lately.
I did break one of my own self-imposed cardinal rules and included an artist that is probably too big to be considered truly “local” but I’ll be damned if that Jessie Baylin record isn’t something everyone should hear.
