D. Watusi will be putting out their full-length album Dark Party soon enough but this preview tide you over until it happens. The A side album track is an exciting teaser for the album and that Joy Division cover is outta this world good.
Today marks the official launch of new Nashville culture magazine Native. The first issue, physically available at many fine retailers and digitally available here, covers the topics you’d expect such a publication to tackle – music, food & drink, arts, clothing, film and various other forms of entertainment. It’s well put together, feels good in the hand and features a number of We Own This Town favorites; including Tristen as the cover story.
Be sure to pick up a copy if you see it and consider attending their Launch Party tonight at Marathon Motor Works based “Moonbase” venue with Evan P Donohue, Hanzelle, Meadownoise, Blackfoot Gypsies and Coin.

Welcome to Bohemia
Free Download
When it comes to hip-hop, I’m not even going to pretend that I have the musical vocabulary to speak on the styles implemented, how a particular album may fit in the grand history of things, influences or any of that. What I can speak to is the enjoyability of a particular undertaking. Welcome to Bohemia is dark, aggressive at times – as exhibited in this video for the title track – but it also manages to be quirky and danceable other times. I’m enjoying what I’m hearing and look forward to more.

Ayebawl needs to be careful, this song is encroaching on the 2-minute mark. That is too long for a band that touts themselves as reviving the time honored tradition of creating brutal onslaughts of songs coming in under the one minute mark. Regardless of the technicality, it’s good to see that they’re still going at it and it’s as brutal as ever.
