Alberta Cross
ALBERTA CROSS – Monday, July 16th @ 6PM
Alberta Cross are a bluesy roots-rock band representing the disparate rock locales of Brooklyn, NY, London, England, and Stockholm Sweden. Allmusic describes their music as being “like Crazy Horse fronted by Mercury Rev’s Jonathan Donahue, blazing a trail through the backwoods with the raw fury of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and the pensive, worldweary pen of Gram Parsons” while the New York Times says, “…a British take on Southern rock…the seismic guitars and high vocals look to My Morning Jacket, Kings of Leon and Crazy Horse…but Alberta Cross sets aside those American bands’ redemptive undercurrents of blues and gospel; instead it plunges into the very English despair of bands like Pink Floyd.” Alberta Cross releases their latest album, “Songs Of Patience” on July 17th and we’ll have them playing in the store the day before so you’ll also be able to snag the new record a day early.
