If you told me you wanted to make a music video featuring a girl listlessly performing ballet with an old school telephone cord around her house I’d say you were barking up the wrong tree but, having seen it, I have to admit that it works perfectly well with the tone of the song and album. Jordan Caress is a talented lady. She’s done time backing up Caitlin Rose, hit the road for long stretches with Tristen and proved her vocal diversity chops with My So Called Band many times over. So, it’s great to see that her solo outfit – Ponychase – has officially released their first EP. They even put it out as a 10″ – who does that anymore? It’s a synth-y, drum machine, melancholy and forelorn bit of pop undertaking. It gets you moving but breaks your heart at the same time.

It may be their debut episode but “Sound Bites” is starting things off right with this profile of Diarrhea Planet. Hearing the band describe their setup, sound and genre (“Arena Punk”) is a rather enjoyable and enlightening time.
