Little Bandit – “Platform Shoes”

Recorded by Benjamin Stager at historic RCA Studio B, Nashville, TN.
Video directed by Ryan Kendrick

How about a bit of country crooning featuring a bunch of talented women from around town portraying ladies of the night to start off your day? Yep, sounds perfect. See how many notable cameos you can spot – I spy no less than five women you should be familiar with. Thanks Little Bandit!

Approximately one year ago, Beat Bums quietly released a song called Thing Love. It was an enjoyable little diddy with a gruesome bit of cover art. Now, kicking off 2013, come two releases – Prelude and (in March) Don’t Hate Demonstrate. I suggest sticking with Prelude for now, just to whet your whistle. In fact, I suggest diving straight into the track Lost, its the most quickly accessible on the EP and will definitely pique your interest. I’m rather looking forward to these being officially available and consumable by all.

Right before the close of 2012, Forget Cassettes released the third of the three EP O Cursa series. III continues the aural trend of the prior two releases with the full-on embracement of a dark, electronic based sound. If I didn’t know better, I’d say that Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails and all sorts of experimental 80’s undertakings played their part in the subtle influencing of this whole new stylistic undertaking but I know better than to make assumptions like that. It’s a fine listen, particularly the “Catie” trifecta of songs. It’s also nice to hear “DNA” close out, thematically, the story of the whole set.

Next up, the full vinyl LP release that comes with two additional songs.
