Daytrotter ♥ Nashville

wott_daytrotterfeb

It’s a bummer that Daytrotter requires a membership to hear anything on the site because they feature a lot of Nashville bands and there’s no other way to get a glimpse of the goods unless you pay up (seriously, not even ONE preview song?). Fortunately, I do have a membership and can attest to some of these recent sessions being well worth the price of membership. Give it some consideration.

Shivering Timbers

SHIVERING TIMBERS – Wednesday, February 20th @ 5PM
The new Shivering Timbers album streets Feb. 19 and they’re celebrating with us! “Imagine a mellow P.J. Harvey fronting the Bad Seeds on a shadowy corner of Sesame Street” — Nashville Scene

Grimeys – 5pm

Brand new Phantom Farmer website and 3 new tracks to preview. New EP, Golden Days, on April 19th.

Megajoos – Mega Deuce

Is it unfair to call Megajoos the Nashville version of Lightning Bolt but with more poop jokes? I mean that as a total compliment.

Gunther Doug – Demos

I know nothing of this band except what I can glean from their cover photo, logo type and song names – namely that these guys like to make some fun, loose, indie rock songs.

Maybe this is really lazy of me (it is) but I’m going to call Megajoos the Nashville version of Lightning Bolt! but with more poop jokes. I mean this as a total compliment.
