Hollow Ox – Sunya

Every time I flip through the local vinyl bins at Grimeys I see a record from Hollow Ox and think, I really should pick that up. I never do and always feel curious about the sounds within. Fortunately, for me, they’ve released their latest – Sunya – right on the Internet. It’s a beautiful collection of post-rock gems that finds just the right balance of building tempos and tension and wide lulling expanses. I’m into it.

They’ve been teasing at it for some time now but Hotpipes have now officially announced the arrival of a new album. Dust will be released on May 7th, 2013 via yk records*.

The band will ALSO be playing a record release show on May 11th at Mercy Lounge with Echo Group. So mark your calendars for that.
