Coley Hinson plays bass for Evan P Donohue and guitar for Twiggs – so he’s no stranger to the rock scene around town. He’s recently released his first solo endeavor – Poor Coley’s Almanac – an enjoyable EP of rolling songs with a bit of influence from all over.Â
I can’t say I fully understand this glitchy, electronic,  undertaking but  I can appreciate it for the madness that it is. If you need convincing, start with “Man We Had a Blast” and then ease into “Magoo’s Basement Fantasy.” Good luck.

In case you missed the barrage of tweets last night, it should be noted that I’ve posted another chunk of the podcast archive over on Mixcloud. The old Lake Fever compilation and Best of 2009 episodes are in that mix and I recommend revisiting them. I like a LOT of local music but no one ever won my heart like Apollo Up! Also, Miles Price is an incredible photographer – make yourself fortunate enough to have him photograph your show.
Getting really psyched about going in to track live drums for this record.

Typically I don’t cover a lot of remixes because it’s not really original music being created by local artists (which is, after all, the point of WOTT). However, these Amerigo Gazaway Chromeo Remixes are remarkably enjoyable… and who am I to not share enjoyable music?
