Tommy & The Ohs – “Living in the Swamp”

There is a lot to love about this Tommy and The Ohs track. It features gorgeous Jim McGuire photography for the cover art, it was recorded direct to 2" tape at RCA Studio C and, best of all, the songs are damn good.

You know what’s NOT great about it? A $9 pricetag for three digital files. I can forgive the $20 sticker price for a direct-to-acetate 7" – that’s a collector’s item – but I’m really shocked about the digital price. Maybe even offended?

Despite that, it really is enjoyable to listen to.

What Up English – …Play The Hits

It may be a little early for a band like What Up English to be releasing a Best Of or Rarities compilation but they’re cleaning house in preparation for a bunch of new recordings coming soon, so why not? Also, it acts as a great sampler introduction to the band.

Birdcloud to release Effortless EP on 9/11.   #neverforget

Matt Moody Dual Release! Your Sun and When I Get To The Fence available now!

Prize for most headache inducing album art goes to NUDITY for their forthcoming SUPERNATTY 7". Insane.

PETTY – Doug ft. The Beets Killer Tofu Tour `96

If I could pinpoint what it was that it’s so damn charming about this song, I would. But I can’t! I think it was the ridiculously perfect artist description that drew me in and then the song itself is obviously someone enjoying themselves, a quality often lost in hip-hop.

B A S E M E N T F O X – Skin & Sparrow (Pre-Release)

I’m not going to lie, the nude model on the cover is the reason I clicked on this. Sue me.

I will also admit that I initially heard the name Asher Moss through his “Models in the Morning” project – and theIndiegogo campaign that I found somewhat pretentious for no discernible reason. Despite that, I can’t deny that these two songs from B A S E M E N T F O X are great. They remind me of Midlake before that album that sounded like the MASH theme song. I’m happy to eat my words when it comes to Mr. Moss and look forward to more from this endeavor.
