Previously, you saw the teaser for Ryan Burleson’s new project Girls of the SEC. Currently, you can now take all your anticipation for said record and focus it directly on the official Bandcamp page – where the entire five track EP is available. You can read more about it here but, really, just start listening. It really is the most appropriate and enjoyable addition to your summer listening rotation.
Fox Bear Snake -Â Fox Bear Snake
3 Animal Names, 4 Musicians, 1 Rock Band. If you’re into some down and dirty, haunting, southern rock (twinged with a myriad of influences) this will be right up your alley. Maybe I’m hallucinating but I definitely see an upside down skull in that cover art. Spooky!
Ducko Mcfli – Forever
I dunno where these aerial shots of Nashville came from but it’s working quite well with this new goodness from Ducko Mcfli.
Those Darlins – Optimist
It’s a video featuring crotches. Lots of crotches. You clicked Play already, right?
Meadownoise
– “Maybelle, Come to Me”
by Ben Marcantel and Matt Glassmeyer
Let this video be a reminder that Meadownoise plays at The Stone Fox this Thursday with Duane Pitre. Also, loves sea animals.
Evan P Donohue – “Tell Me Sara”
New song and gorgeous live performance video from Mr. Donohue.
The Non-Commissioned Officers – “Say”
If you don’t make it to the 2 minute mark, you’re really robbing yourself of a true music video delight. Also, the HypnoToad style staredown at the end is pretty phenomenal.
Jeffrey Drag Records Summer Sampler 2013
Featuring newness from Bad Cop, Natural Child, Majestico, Useless Eaters and more… all in one convenient mix.
Joshua Morse – Waveform 4
Chiptunes Jazz Fusion straight outta Nashville. Do you need more incentive than that?Â
Pale Houses – Self-Titled
Are you familiar with the works of Aaron Robinson? He used to front a band called Imaginary Baseball League, he’s released solo material and he’s back with his newest project – Pale Houses. Robinson’s distinctive voice continues to be the driving, stand-out element through each melancholy song but music backing him is built wonderfully around it. It’s safe to say these songs are emotional but that shouldn’t be taken as a pejorative. Robinson’s voice and craft are always welcome.
Those Darlins – “Oh God”
from Blur the Line – due Oct 1. Sexy artwork included.
I
magine what a new single from Magnolia Sons would sound like. “A Piece Worth Picking Up” is that single. It’s a traditional R&B burner that I am sure hits even harder live.
