Evan P Donohue – “She’s Mine I’m Yours”

Not gonna lie, I was starting to worry that we’d heard the last from Evan P Donohue. It’s been quite awhile since his last release but he’s back! The first single, “She’s Mine I’m Yours” is just a taste of what to expect from his forthcoming full-length, Stairway to Evan. Yes, that’s the actual awesome title.

You can also snag the track over on his Bandcamp and see him at The Stone Fox on July 10th (that’s tomorrow).

Girls of the SEC – Lost Summer

Ryan Burleson has re-released his Girls of the SEC EP, Lost Summer, with some bonus tracks. If you missed it the first time, don’t be a dummy this time around – get it. It’s a helluva soundtrack for the warmer days.

Meadownoise – Dark Digest (Updates)

If you haven’t been paying attention you may have missed the fact that Meadownoise has continuously been adding to his slow-release album, Dark Digest. “Casi Mato”, “Red Again” and “The Thrush” are now available for your ears to enjoy. Dive in.

All Them Witches – “Effervescent”

A new track from faves All Them Witches just popped on Bandcamp and it’s listed as an EP. My initial thought was more must be on the way but that one track is 25 minutes long! You can’t call yourself Stoner Jam unless you actually jam every once and awhile.

24 Hr Records presents FIST

Members of Blank Range, Cy Barkley & The Way Outsiders, Chrome Pony and No Regrets Coyote get together for 24 hours to record 3 songs. The results are well worth a watch. The Making Of video is an entertaining bit of late-night struggle over at Club Roar or you can just dive into the results below. Quality all around.

FIST – “My Way Home”
FIST – “We’ve Got You Surrounded (My Latin Baby)”
FIST – “Headed West”

The Golden Sounds – Waiting on the Birds

Good to see that Todd Evans is continuing with this dreamy undertaking, The Golden Sounds. I’ve always enjoyed that a band with such a positive name really seems to carry a musical vibe that is striving to match that optimism. It’s melancholy but it works.

The Dead Deads

I am, admittedly, a sucker for many things. So, when you combine a group of girls copping a slightly macabre vibe mixed with hard rock leaning pop songs I’m inevitably going to fall for it. It might not make your “most deep thinking record of the year” list but maybe you can shake loose the chains of indie rock snoot and just enjoy it. I did and it feels right.
