are raising funds for their next album and, unsurprisingly, turned to Kickstarter to raise awareness around the need. The video is a Wes Anderson-y affair with great camera moves and tasty Futura type – just as you’d want from The Nobility.Â
They’re a great band and more pop gems from their camp can only be a good thing. Go support them and let’s get that guy to shave his beard and paste it on the other guy.
I regularly browse the offerings of new “Nashville” music tagged on Bandcamp and, without fail, there’s always some new full-length record from R. Stevie Moore – the father of lo-fi pop greatness. I’ve never found a proper entry point into his massive catalog but seeing this collaboration with Jason Falkner pop up may just be the opportunity I needed. Make It Be features plenty of Falkner vocals and many of his familiar guitar sounds but the production and energy R. Stevie Moore brings to it all makes it some of his best work in years.

I’m not familiar with the original creations of Bleed the Pigs but these two Nirvana covers certainly entice me to learn more. They are an onslaught of energy but still remain faithful to the originals (a compliment to their ability to pick proper songs to cover). I would see this live and be terrified – a healthy fear.
I love the recordings of Jonny Fritz but the energy that comes from his live performances doesn’t always fully translate. So, it’s nice to have a proper recording spanning his last few albums. I mean, “Life a Bear” live just can’t be beat.
Another two tracks from the Dark Digest series have been released over on the Meadownoise bandcamp page. The above track, “Deafened by the Ring”, is a bit of a meta journey regarding playing live. The other track, “Think Like a Monkey”, is also available for your listening pleasure and MAY be about fatherhood – at least as far as I can tell. Both are piano-y excursions that blend quite well with Glassmeyer’s forlorn vocal style.
New EP from Bad Cop is coming down the pipe for release on October 28th. Wish You Well … and Goodbye is a scant three songs but they manage to pack the punch you come to expect from the band. They also seemed to have found the proper match for themselves in terms of production – just the  right balance between polish and lo-fi.
Never doubt the power of compelling album art. I’m calling this a Kubrickian shout out to the Overlook Hotel – even if that’s not the case, that’s the story I’m going with.Â
The music within is energetic, diverse and a very solid bit of good time pop. Do enjoy.
Kudos to Kelly Ruth and crew for capturing the proper spirit of this Halloween classic while still putting their own 50’s style spin on it.
Well what have we here? A new How I Became the Bomb song? And the promise of a new record, Adonis,  on November 4th? I’ll file this one under Unbelievable.
With a name like “ZeR0FuX” you have to wonder if the artist really gives, well, any fucks about what they’re making but the results of this ambient undertaking suggest at least one or two fucks were given. It’s a great headphone listen that I can personally endorse as working to drown out the sounds of Portland Brew.
Bonus: if you download and reverse Track 2, a new hidden track is revealed. How’s that for zero fucks?
Not quite sure what to make of Neon Black yet as I’ve just heard the one song but with band members named “Wherewolf” and “Ape Wall” I’m certainly intrigued to hear more.
