Listen to Turbo Fruits No Control
Though it won’t be officially released until the 20th of this month, you can listen to the entire new record from the Turbo Fruits over on SPIN. You can also catch them at The Basement this Saturday where I imagine they will tear your face off with rawkus versions of these more introspective songs. Should be a good time.Â

This Saturday, April 11th, Jessie Baylin will play at 3rd and Lindsley to celebrate the release of her latest album, Dark Place. The album is a proper follow-up to her previous, personally loved, output, Little Spark, but pushes itself forward stylistically by incorporating a variety of styles every so subtle-y. The lead single, Creepers (Young Love), has some nice crunchy garage rock influence while other tracks give a nod towards Doo-Wop or even wide open ambient arrangements. Much of this variety is likely due to the collaboration on the album with producer Richard Swift, who also excels at blending upbeat pop styles with a heartwrenching underpinning of melancholy.Â
It’s a great album worthy of many accolades. Don’t miss the album or the performance – both will be fine additions to your life.
Jessie Baylin “Creepers (Young Love)â€
Jessie Baylin’s ability to pick great collaborators is impressive. Her new album, Dark Place, is largely influenced by producer, director, musician Richard Swift and this video for Creepers is directed by Michael Carter – the perfect talent for visualizing the creepy tone of the song.

Penicillin Baby “Stick It Outâ€
Hopefully you’ve already heard this track when it was posted previously but now it’s got an official video. The song is still as great as ever and the video is perfectly weird – as it should be.

V to Z “Blood Saltâ€
Another new track from V to Z (aka Joshua Moore) was released yesterday.. making it into his plan to release a new song every month (just barely). It’s another exercise in building tension. Really looking forward to all of these being available as one collection.
Gay Vibes – Bougie Nights
Seth Graves, aka Gay Vibes, has really been stepping it up over the past few years. While he’s probably better known for his video work, his musical undertakings should not be overlooked. Bougie Nights, apparently, started as a commission work for a French publishing company that fell through but he’s revived it and self-released it. I’d say it’s a shame it fell through but the self-releasing angle means we, the listeners, get it a lot faster. It’s more nuanced, more laid back but every bit as engaging as the previous pieces. I’m into it.

Turbo Fruits - “No Reason to Stay†Premiere
Listen to the new Turbo Fruits track “No Reason To Stay†over on Clash Music. The track is the second release from their forthcoming April 20th full-length, No Control.
Makeup and Vanity Set - “Hand in Hand†– Wilderness
The first track from Makeup and Vanity Set’s new album, Wilderness, has made its way out into the world. The song features Jasmin Kaset on vocals and is an awesomely moody piece of work (as is the whole album).
Full disclosure: I am releasing this record on my own YK Records along with Telefuture. It comes coupled with a new film, Eidolon, by Joey Ciccoline and I am unabashedly in love with it.

Another volume of Nashville music you may have missed. Granted, much of this podcast stems from my hibernation time but it’s entirely possible that you missed out on plenty of the greatness stored within.Â
I also took this opportunity to bookend the podcast with songs from the late Dave Cloud, a man whom I was only familiar with in personality but not musical output. He really does have some seriously amazing songs, please take this opportunity to familiarize yourself.
