MONDO PR!MO.

This name comes largely as a result of our undying fixation on late-80’s, early-90’s surf slang.

Mondo
adj. Huge, Massive; Cool; nice; neat.

Primo
adj. Excellent, first-class

Those who have been following FW somewhat know that we recorded a record called 2FN HOT with Matt Mahaffey (known for his work with Self, Hellogoodbye, and Beck) a little while ago. We’re thrilled to declare that we now have a shiny new name and a fancy release date of August 19th, 2008 on Doghouse Records/Heinous Records via ADA/Warner Music Group distribution.

If you’re so inclined, take a gander at the artwork and a careful listen to 4 new songs on our spankin’ new myspace page, which you’re among the first to see. Also, definitely drop us a line to let us know what you think of all the freshness:

Of course there will be a multitude of breathless updates and hyped correspondence to come, but this is a first-look opportunity for the people who have been with us for a long time to see just what kinda mess we’re getting ourselves into. All of the artwork is going to be in anaglyphic comic-book 3D. As such, our physical record will come with custom 3D glasses. Those who opt for the digital release can claim their 3D glasses by emailing us a receipt of the digital purchase.

There are so many of you on this list we’ve lost touch with through the years, and it really would be wonderful to hear from you and what you’re up to.
