They were something special at Lollapalooza this year. I was shocked to see they were coming here to Charleston, SC, too. Must be a pretty extensive tour. $20 seems a bit steep, but based on how good they were at an outdoor venue, I expect it to be worth it.
By the way, everyone says they’re breaking up after this tour, but they’ve made it pretty clear it’s just one of those “hiatus” things bands like to do.
$20 is well worth it in my opinion. And I think more bands should go on hiatus – better to have life experience to write about rather than just life on the road to reflect on.
I guess it’s just semantics. Plenty of bands take small breaks without calling it a “hiatus”. I guess Broken Social Scene has always been a bit on the dramatic side, though. Silly Canadians…
Was any one else at the BSS show at 12th and Porter a few years back? It was pretty good, but they opened the show with 15 minutes of some pretty awful hippy crap.
