The Katies Acoustic Session

I still remember seeing The Katies flail around at The Boro on any given night during my time at MTSU. It’s definitely odd to see them subdued and playing acoustic versions of their songs but nice to see that they’re still willing to have the songs in their lives in some respect. Those guys got […]

A Very Glossary Christmas

I’m going to nestle up to snowy windowsill and gaze out longingly, waiting for the Glossary Christmas to debut on Dec. 17th. (Source: https://www.youtube.com/)

Neil O’Neil – Almost Good Enough

“If it doesn’t work out, we can be awkward” is a sentiment about failed relationships and trying friendships that just about anyone can relate to. Neil O’Neil does a fine job of creating upbeat-yet-melancholy songs that are excellently layered with all sorts of folky instrumentation. Job well done from all involved.

Indwelling Fire – 8 Bit Roundhouse

I’m still making my way through it but any album equally inspired by the reality show “Hoarders” and the concept of falling in love with artificial intelligence (ala Mario’s Princess) deserves a nod in my opinion. I’m rather enjoying Sir Tet and Vintage Machines.

Meadownoise – The Bats Have Come Now

Making good on his promise to release new music in regular intervals and to promote his Wednesday Dec. 4th show at The Stone Fox with Stone Jack Jones , Meadownoise unleashes The Bats Have Come Now. Love the song and the video features the most precious singer.. not to mention undeniable proof of Glassmeyer’s solitary creation […]

Hammock – Oblivion Hymns

Did you see Gravity? Do you struggle with the size of the Universe and the somewhat futile nature of our existence? Do you want to hear something beautiful while imagining being blown to tiny atom sized bits? I’m not being flippant – this is what you would listen to if you were dying in a […]

Jensen Sportag: Stealth of Days In a dance music scene striving for experimentation, Nasvhille electronic duo Jensen Sportag’s debut album Stealth of Days is a sonic hybrid that stands out for its audaciousness. Nice to see Jensen Sportag reviewed by Pitchfork!

Those Darlins – “In The Wilderness”

Another video from the latest Those Darlins record, Blur the Line. There’s some drug addled peep show vibe to it.. which is to say, it’s an enjoyable viewing. See also: The Ettes peep show styled video. Let’s hope this is an emerging trend! (Source: https://www.youtube.com/)
