Primitive Prison – “Chainshot” 7"

Admittedly, “Less Than a Minute” speedy punk songs are not for everyone. That being said, the kind of wild abandon and ferocious energy that comes with these songs has an undeniable appeal. Listening to this you can easily imagine a crowd of onlookers being whipped into a frenzy, I’d say that’s doing something right.

: Tipper Whore – “Tipper Whore Party Program” Official Video Thanks to the Nashville Cream for debuting the official video for “Tipper Whore Party Program.” The video, from Lance Conzett, captures the band in their finest element – performing live. save/quit – “inside”

Anytime I see a band tagged “Alternative Rock” on Bandcamp I immediately suspect that the music will be solid and the vocals will absolutely ruin it. Call me a pessimist but that’s been my experience 9 times out of 10. Fortunately, this new track from “save/quit” is an outlier. A lazy journalist (such as myself) […]

Majestico – When Kingdom Come

I’ve been enjoying the musical undertakings of Majestico for some time but their full energetic vision hadn’t really come to fruition until hearing this record. Their live show was always a visual treat – especially when the insane headdresses were involved – but When Kingdom Come really brings home the combination of drugged out, somewhat […]

Forest of Tygers – Bruises

I’ve been following the musical undertakings of Jim and Rachel Valosik since my time at the illustrious Middle Tennessee State University. Both have been involved in a number of great bands (Serotonin, Lotushalo) and never seem to disappoint, even when they’re making music that I would not typically contemplate listening to.  Bruises is brutal. An […]

Nikki Lane – “Seein’ Double”

Preview the first track from the forthcoming Nikki Lane album, All or Nothin’ (May 6th). Hopefully the whole record is primarily this upbeat.. personally I think that’s where she shines the most.

Those Darlins – “Jolene (Dolly Parton)”

Join Eef Barzelay and Those Darlins as they discuss Dolly Parton, her legacy and then actually cover “Jolene.”  Love seeing Nashville artists on the AV Club! (Source: http://www.avclub.com/)

Faux Ferocious – Striking Distance

These four brand new tracks from Faux Ferocious alternate between manic energy and the more laid back, building stoner jams. Long story short, it’s an enjoyably solid offering.

forestoftygers: Got these special editions in the mail from Primitive Violence today. We’ll have a small amount of them at the East Room free show on Friday 5/2. If you haven’t heard Forest of Tygers yet (and consider yourself a fan of some deep, dark, black metal), do NOT miss this amazing limited edition package […]

JOTA ESE – SUPER DANK III

Jota Ese released Super Dank III yesterday, April 20th. It’s a fitting release date for an undertaking presumably designed to space the fuck out to. It’s effective too. Watch the accompanying video and stare straight ahead, devoid of thought and life complications just for a little bit.

The last eight copies of Meadownoise It’s 4:00 EP are available at Grimeys. It’s been removed from online and will not be sold at shows anymore. It’s, quite literally, the last eight copies.
