Volume 80

Download MP3 Chaptered Stream Podcast In lieu of a Best Of podcast, I wanted to commemorate the 80th volume of the podcast with a guest curator; an undertaking there will be plenty more of in the future. So, I invited Olivia Scibelli to curate the entirety of the episodes programming. Olivia is best known for […]

Fidelity High If you aren’t familiar with the WXNA show Fidelity High, please find some time to deep dive into their archive of profiles and podcasts. While there are plenty of non-Nashville creative types featured, there is a rich slew of creators from Nashville that are worth your time. Here’s a handful: Alicia Bognanno (BULLY)Patrick […]

Okey Dokey “Congenial Man”

If you didn’t catch it already on The Cream, please find some time immediately to listen to the latest from Okey Dokey. Really looking forward to that album (supposdly out in early 2017 I believe). (Source: https://www.youtube.com/)

Flourescent Half Dome – Jewel Tones

While `Fluorescent Half Dome` may be the title of a Dirty Projectors song it should be better known for being the name of Krista Glover’s solo outing (also known for her enjoyable work in dream-pop band Wildfront). There is a distinctive 80′s production quality to the seven tracks, down to the programmed drums and occasionally […]

Paperhead “Dama de Lavanda”

Mind currently being blown by the goodness of the first sneak peek of Paperhead’s new album, Chew. Latin-y horns, jangly guitars, hazy Beatles-esque vocals, a tiny bit of guitar lick and a flute tinged outro; a combo you’d never think would work quite this well. Officially excited for the full album.

OKEY DOKEY “Wavy Gravy”

I’ll admit that I’m a bit behind with this news but I just stumbled across the official video for OKEY DOKEY’s track, Wavy Gravy. Really looking forward to their album, Love You, Mean It, out in January. (Source: https://www.youtube.com/)

PANGS “Do Better”

PANGS is many things; sometimes they’re introspective dreamy electronic pop. Sometimes they’re abrasive electronic soundscapes. And sometimes they’re absolutely flagrant pop songs. The later is the case with “Do Better”, the latest from the outfit. It’s a club hit waiting for your closed eyes, waving arms and screaming singalong on that chorus.

The Mute Group “Brainplate in Eb”

Take some time to watch the newest video from The Mute Group, the new project from Umbrella Tree frontman Zachary Gresham. The video, directed by _1_2_7 features some creative work with coloring dyes and white roses. What’s it all mean? There’s no way of knowing but it’s entrancing to watch.  (Source: https://www.youtube.com/)
