The easiest classification of The Alarms is Rock Music. Lots of soaring choruses, jangly guitars, driving drum beats and flourishes mixed in throughout. It isn’t rough around the edges, it’s polished and perfected.  This isn’t meant as a fault to describe the band, it’s actually what helps set it apart. Even moreso  for me, is the tinge of optimism that runs throughout the more energetic numbers – a feeling I’m not always accustomed to.
