Hammock “Things of Beauty Burn”

The latest slow-burning video from Hammock is a dramatic visage of a dusty world and the travelers trying to keep alive within it. I tend to think of these guys as a post-post-rock band. They stem from the same world of quiet-loud dynamics but have moved past the big guitars for every track and found themselves in a more symphonic place.

“Things of Beauty Burn” relies heavily on large orchestration and deeply moving ethereal voices to set the stage. Visually, it as apt as any dystopian landscape that a post-rock band could embrace but the music creates a surprising offset to that bleak possibility.

Their new album Mysterium is out August 25th. Pre-orders available here.
