Sat May 13, 2006 at 8:17 amNo no, jakob… Sam has always drummed for Harper/The Comfies. I think Bill played drums on demos of Ben’s songs waaaay back when he also played drums in Feable Weiner. But recently they were gonna get Bill to play bass after Keith left…(that’s why he’s in the pics they took in ATL). Then I heard something about him leaving again and yet another bass player taking over. I wish I could’ve gone to the show thursday and all of this would be settled…
Sat May 13, 2006 at 1:05 pmI don’t understand why you have to correct Jakob only to go on to say that he was right. When Ben formed the Comfies (as a FW side project), Bill played drums. If I’m not mistaken, Caldwell was also in the band. When Keith joined, he was joining The Comfies, but the name was soon changed to Harper. I believe Sam and Raf joined around the same time as Keith (and Ben quit FW to make it his full focus). Originally, Keith and Bill considered rotating as bass player based on their availability as well as the location of the show (in-town or out-of-town), but that didn’t really happen. Keith’s other commitments drew him out of Harper (which, as I understand it, was not an easy move for Keith, because he really liked being in the band).
I don’t know what happened to Bill, but I believe I read somewhere (a bulletin?) that Nathan from the Darling Hearts and formerly Bang^3 is the new bass player. Maybe he and Bill are still rotating the bass player spot. The Myspace page only lists Ben, Sam, and Raf right now.
