I recently found myself revisiting the highly underrated self-titled record from Repent or Forever Be Damned. Frustrated by the lack of information regarding anything concerning the band I shot off an email to the official site assuming it would bounce back. Much to my delight, I received word that a new record was potentially in the works but, in the meantime, I should probably check out Barfly the Musical.
Recorded at RCA Studio B, the album features songs penned by Molly Jamieson and a hefty list of contributors – including David Mead, Butterfly Boucher, Fleming, Lindsay Jamieson and more. My knee jerk reaction might be to shy away from such a list of collaborators but, honestly, it’s an incredibly well conceived, well executed, sometimes beautiful, sometimes hilarious, always interesting kind of record.
